Planted tanks are a popular and rapidly growing segment of the aquarium.

Unlike a traditional aquarium, live plants are the primary focus, with fish being an accent or compliment to the overall effect.

Plants enhance water quality by using waste produced by fish as nutrients thus preventing formation of algae. There is symbiotic relationship between fish & plants. Plants produce O₂ during the day, which is used by fish & stabilising water pH. CO₂ produced by fish is in turn utilised by plants

Aquascaping is the arrangement of rocks, driftwood and live plants in an aquarium to create a visually appealing scene.

Aquascape

It is an art form that allows you to create an underwater landscape. Landscape that may imitate
mountains, jungles, deserts, valleys, tropical rainforests, canyons, waterfalls & many others.

The main ingredients to create aquascape are:

  • Right quality of glass for tank
  • Non leaching substrate
  • Varied sizes of rocks
  • Right choice of plants
  • Right choice of fishes variety which can coexist
  • Lighting

You have got to have a lot of patients while creating an aquascape. It can take in situ work of a few days to a few weeks & growing up of plants may take a few months.
